68 scholars from 20 countries participate in the Conference (in alphabetical order: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Brazil, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Estonia, Cambodia, Georgia, Germany, Greece, France, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Mexico, Norway, Ukraine, Spain, Sweden, UK). Representative of the University of Mariupol will participate in the Conference.
Presentation of the Encyclopedia "Caucasus Antiquus" prepared by the Institute will be held in the frame of the Conference. This is a unique edition of five volumes, which has no analogue internationally and which proves the centuries-old and multifaceted connections of the Caucasus region, and specifically Georgia, with the Ancient Greek World and Western civilization.
Within the framework of the interdisciplinary conference, foreign and Georgian scholars of different generations will discuss the Caucasus in antiquity, the Middle Ages and the modern era from different perspectives. Peculiarities of the perception of the Caucasus in ancient mythology and modern literature, theater and cinema will be discussed and analysed.
